Keeping you safe on campus

As you head into Semester 2 for 2016, now is the time to find out about the essential services Security & Traffic Management provide on campus to help keep you safe.

  • StaySafe@UNSW app – the Security app provides you with direct access to a number of Security Services. This app also features a flashlight and alarm, and access to emergency procedures. Download the app for free from the App Store or Google Play.
  • Night shuttle bus – this free service operates Monday – Friday 6.30pm to 11.30pm (excluding public holidays) around the Kensington and Randwick campuses and surrounding streets. You can track the bus via the StaySafe@UNSW app to see exactly where the night shuttle bus is while you are waiting for it. You can also track it from your computer by visiting
  • Safety escorts – you can request a Security escort to get across campus safely. A security officer will accompany you from your location on campus to car parks, bus stops and taxi ranks. This is a free service, available after hours, all year round. Call 9385 6000 to request or visit one of the Help Points located on campus to request an escort.

  • Help Pointshelp points are strategically located across the campus to help ensure your safety. Pressing the red button will connect you directly to Security & Traffic Management.

  • Cops on Campus – A partnership with NSW Police, Cops on Campus set up a mobile van on campus and are on hand to talk with students and staff and provide general safety awareness information. The van is on campus every Wednesday, 12 noon – 2pm at a different location each week. Keep an eye on the StaySafe app for the weekly location.
