Photovoltaics on the Library roof

Posted 7 October 2014

The 423 photovoltaic (PV) panels installed late last year are now live.

The panels will provide an average annual energy output of approximately 140,000kWh, resulting in an annual saving on our energy bill of approximately $17,000.

They will also help us reduce our annual carbon footprint, saving approximately 140 tonnes of CO2, which is equivalent to taking 42 cars off the road.

The Library PV installation is the second largest on the Kensington campus. The largest is at the Tyree Energy Technologies Building.
