Lost property

UNSW Security and Traffic Management are responsible for the handling and management of Lost and Found Property. Any found item should be handed to Security at Gate 2 High St or any Security Officer.  All found items are registered into the Lost Property database. Lost property found on and off campus is held at Security Office Gate 2 for a period of one (1) month.

Please help us return lost property by writing your name and student number on books, notes, folders and other items. 

Note: Perishable items, food containers and drink bottles will not be stored due to hygiene reasons.

Finding lost property

Please hand in any lost items to the Library, Campus Security at Gate 2, Security and Traffic Management or to any Security Officer. Campus Security will contact the owner by phone, email or by letter. If any lost property received is unidentifiable, Campus Security will hold the item for one (1) month before disposing of it.

Collecting your property

Lost property may be collected from Campus Security located at Gate 2, which is open 24/7.

Please note you required to provide the following:

  • Proof of identity and, if necessary, ownership of the item
  • Signature to acknowledge receipt of the item.

On the Paddington Campus, lost property is held with Estate Management in Room FG14 (F Block). The office is open from 8am-4pm, Monday to Friday. Tel: (02) 8936 0747. 

Unclaimed property

Unclaimed property held for one (1) month is donated to the Early Years Day Care Services. Alost property sale is held on campus each year. For more information on the Early Years Day Care Services visit their website.
